A developer has been cleared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to build a controversial private motorsports club off Route 25 in Tamworth, New Hampshire.
TAMWORTH, N.H. (AP) -- Club Motorsports says the permit is the last of three major state and federal environmental permits it needs to build its 28-million-dollar track. The project has prompted opposition from community members who fear the track will create noise and environmental problems.
The project calls for a three-point-three-mile, 18-turn, European-style road course for use by private drivers and motorcyclists.
